Town’s Air Test Also Confirms Williams’ Compliance

Another air test -- the eighth so far this year -- has confirmed Williams' compliance in Flower Mound with air quality standards.

Flower Mound has released the results of another round of air quality samples that were taken at 12 locations across town on May 18, 2010, including two locations involving our natural gas facilities near FM 1171/Scenic Road.

These tests were performed by Kleinfelder Central, an independent professional services firm contracted by the town to perform a comprehensive air study.

Each sample was collected over an approximate 24-hour period using EPA protocols and adhering to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s Short-term Effects Screening Levels and newly-adopted Air Monitoring Comparison Values (AMCV).

The results for the air samples involving our facilities are available in Table 1 following page 17 in the Ambient Air Quality Evaluation report that is posted on the town’s website.

The sample for location AA-5 in the report was taken immediately to the northwest of our 1171/Scenic site. The sample for location AA-9 was taken on-site at our 1171/Scenic facilities, per our cooperation with the town’s request.

There are two pipeline compressors at this site, a gas-lift compressor, 12 water collection tanks for produced water, 11 natural gas wellheads and three dehydration units that separate moisture from natural gas.

All of the results for samples AA-5 and AA-9 were below the TCEQ’s limits. It’s also important to note than benzene was not even detected at either sampling location involving our facilities.

This is the eighth time that the air quality has been tested at or near our sites in Flower Mound this year. All eight tests have shown that the air quality is in compliance with TCEQ limits.
